In which our sexy hero wakes up with a woman in his bed and
no memory of how that happened. Did he miss the good stuff?
Hot Winter Nights
Heartbreaker Bay – Book 6
wouldn’t think of a bad Santa case as the perfect Christmas gift. Then
again, Molly Malone, office
manager at Hunt Investigations, isn’t most people, and she could really use a
distraction from the fantasies she’s been having since spending the night with
her very secret crush, Lucas
Knight. Nothing happened, not that Lucas knows that—but Molly just wants
to enjoy being a little naughty for once . . .
pain meds for almost-healed bullet wounds don’t mix. Lucas needs to remember
that next time he’s shot on the job, which may be sooner rather than later if
Molly’s brother, Joe, finds out about them. Lucas can’t believe he’s drawing a
blank on his (supposedly) passionate tryst with Molly, who’s the hottest,
smartest, strongest woman he’s ever known. Strong enough to kick his butt if
she discovers he’s been assigned to babysit her on her first case. And hot
enough to melt his cold heart this Christmas . . .
Lucas works for a security and investigation firm but – due to being in ‘light duty’ – has been tasked to ‘babysit’ his boss’s sister Molly on her first big assignment. He can already tell this will go bad, especially since they supposedly spent the night together (too bad he can’t remember that). Molly is fiercely independent and she doesn’t need a man to babysit her; she could use with a partner though. She blackmails him into helping her but then quickly realized that the more time they spend together the harder it is to resist doing more.
There was so much going on in this book – I think I was hooked from the very first chapter. And every time I thought I had figured out how the book was going to go, the author shook it up on me. The connection between the Hero and the heroine is perfect; they’re both hardened by past events but together they work to overcome everything and realize they may be better together. The cast of characters around them add humor and depth to the story and just make it that much better. This is not an afternoon read – Amazon has it listed at 384 pages, but in addition to the length there really is a lot of information packed into the book. You’ll love every minute spent reading it though!
