We’ve all done it, salivated
Over a guy at the gym, imagined the unimaginable.
Wanted what we can’t have.

Only my fantasy has turned into an obsession.
Every night like clockwork he’s there.
Every night like clockwork I’m ready.

I’m not the kind of girl who does this kind of thing and
he’s exactly the kind of man that does.

He’s as sexy AF.
Dominant as all hell.
Built like a machine.

And when he turns up at my work

My worst f**king nightmare.

My Thoughts

Tully is a good girl at heart; she’s only been with one man in her lifetime but when she meets Brock at the gym she can’t keep her eyes off of him. She gives in to her desires and has one of the roughest and dirtiest nights in her life; of course she immediately regrets it. She isn’t really single – she’s only on a year break from her longtime boyfriend before they get back together and get married. But Brock is not easily deterred from some of the hottest sex he’s ever had. Add in that Tully blocks his number? That’s like issuing a challenge to an alpha male – he had to have her now. Neither one of them are looking for anything long term, but once they give in again – they both quickly realize that they want more from their causal affair. But they both have their personal hang ups that make getting the ‘more’ that much harder.

I’ll admit at first I wasn’t sure how I felt about Tully’s character. She seemed a bit wishy-washy to me – because she was as into that first night as Brock was; then when you pair her level of inexperience with Brock’s level of sleeping around, well it’s understandable as to why she’d be hesitant to further anything else with him. The more I read the more I liked Tully’s character – the way she stood up to Brock was amazing. (I do love to watch a dominant, in control man fall – it’s such a sweet moment when they realize it too). I think my favorite part was that they both were in uncharted territory at some point; that really just made their relationship journey so relatable to me as a reader. This book was a decent length – it wasn’t something I could read through in an afternoon. There was also a lot of action and drama packed into the pages that made it seem longer than it already was. I had read a couple books by this author so I knew I would like the writing style and was pretty sure I’d enjoy the story. If you’ve read some of the authors previous books dealing with the Statons or the Marx family – you will get to revisit a lot of members in the families. You don’t have to read the previous books though – this can absolutely be read as a stand-alone.
