Synopsis

Wilder Flint was the worst mistake of my life.

I should have known better than to fall for his cruel charms and cut-glass eyes, but I was good at calculus and bad at understanding people.

He shredded my heart to pieces.

I spent ten years forgetting Wilder Flint, and it took every minute.

Of course he shows up again. He’s got the same blue eyes, the same cocky grin, and a brand-new swagger that makes me weak in the knees.

I’ve got a summer research project in the Arctic and three canceled flights. Wilder’s got a plane.

But when we crash deep in the middle of nowhere, all we’ve got is each other.

I hate Wilder. I hate him in the depths of my soul, with a fire and fury I’ve never felt about anything else.

But that doesn’t mean I can resist him.

After all, love and hate aren’t so different.

My Thoughts

Wilder and Imogen have a history full of pain, heartbreak and resentment. High school can be traumatic so its understandable that Imogen ran as far as she could from Solaris and it’s residents. Little did she know that in the worst moment she’d run into the one person from highschool that she never wanted to see again. Wilder doesn’t want to admit that he never quite moved on from his time with Imogen. But he will admit to still being angry and hurt – so the last thing he wants to do is spend 5 hours flying her to a remote research station. He does it begrudgingly and when things don’t go according to plan these two have to work together to survive.

I have said it before but I love a second chance romance. They might be one of my favorite kinds of romances to read; I also am a big fan of Roxie Noir’s writings. So when I saw the chance to read this and review it – I naturally jumped at the chance. This author perfectly captured the tension between the two characters and it was realistic and believable to the reader. The book wasn’t too long and the pacing was good; it will seem like the book is flying by but that is only because the author builds the story so well & the reader just can’t put the book down until they’ve reached the conclusion. I felt like she captured the hesitancy to try again on Imogen’s part so well and I just really loved how persistent and determined Wilder was. They both had their hang ups about a second chance and the way they overcame them together was just really exciting to read. Overall I give it 4.5 stars and I’d recommend it to anyone who was a fan of a second chance at love.

About the Author

I love writing sexy, alpha men and the headstrong women they fall for.

My weaknesses include: beards, whiskey, nice abs with treasure trails, sarcasm, cats, prowess in the kitchen, prowess in the bedroom, forearm tattoos, and gummi bears.

I live in California with my very own sexy, bearded, whiskey-loving husband and two hell-raising cats.
