RT Book Reviews proclaims that the O’Brien Family series from award-winning author Cecy Robson “has the hottest brothers ever!” And in SAVE ME, it’s time for Seamus, the family’s most notorious bachelor, to find true love.
Three weddings. No date. What’s a hot stud to do when all the women on his speed dial are either serving dinner to their families or serving time?
Out of all the O’Briens, Seamus is the best-looking, most creative, and, did I mention, best-looking? Single at almost forty wasn’t a big deal until every sibling in his large and loud Irish family found “the one.” Now, he’s desperate for a wedding date, one he doesn’t have to worry will make out with the limo driver or rob the bride and groom blind.
Allie Mendes is the good daughter, who’s spent her life living in her perfect sister’s shadow. But when her sister steals the man Allie was supposed to marry, that shadow she’s lived in threatens to swallow her whole. Allie wants to believe a bright future awaits. But when she begs God to save her from this disastrous twist of fate, the last person she expects Him to send her is Seamus O’Brien.
Allie needs a stand-in boyfriend to avoid appearing as lonely as she feels. Seamus needs a decent woman without an ankle bracelet or a rap sheet as long as his muscular arms. The two make a deal to pose as each other’s perfect date. But weddings mean romance and a chance at forever neither had planned.
OUR THOUGHTS ON SAVE ME
I love to find a book series that follows a family or set of siblings. I had previously read Crave Me and that introduced me to the fun O’Brien family; they’re loud, they’re different, but they’re full of love for each other. Seamus seems to be the only O’Brien sibling not settling down – of no fault of his own; he wants more from life than the casual hookup but the ladies he finds don’t often want more than a fun few nights. He’s got to find someone acceptable to take to the upcoming family weddings but he’s not going to find her in the places that he frequents. Enter Allie; she finds out that her sister is getting married. In a matter of weeks. To Allie’s old boyfriend. That cheated on her with her own sister. What a way to ruin a day. She impulsively tells her mom that she has a date to their wedding and now has to find someone to take her. Perfect – they just pair up. What can go wrong?
As I mentioned, the O’Briens are loud and lovable, fun and I just can’t get enough of them. I was so excited to get a chance to read this latest book in the series. If you have read any of this series before (and probably other Cecy Robson books as well – I haven’t had a chance to get to any of her other books) then you know that her characters always seem to come together in interesting ways. I like that in this case both Allie & Seamus feel something for the other before sex even comes into the picture – that’s rare in romance books. But it really made the connection between the characters feel that much stronger. I think this book was almost 450 pages so it was a fairly long read, but it was so worth all the time spent reading. If you haven’t had a chance to read any of the O’Brien family books yet – you are missing out and I would suggest you fix that asap. It helps to read these in order, since the series follows all the siblings. If you read out of order you might spoil one of the other books.
