From the author who brought you the Chastity Falls series, comes the second book in the Wicked Bay series…

Lo Stone should be used to change by now. It’s been her life for the last year, but how much can a girl take before the cracks begin to show? She knew being with Maverick wouldn’t be easy, but she didn’t anticipate her life in Wicked Bay becoming a game of deceit and lies.Maverick Prince risked everything for Lo, but it was worth it to see her smile. Only now he’s painted a target on her back and he refuses to let that happen. The only way to protect her is to do what Prince’s do best—play the game and stick to the rules.

Even if some rules are made to be broken.

I have been waiting to read the next installment in Lo & Maverick’s story since I finished Wicked Beginnings.  They finally got together right at the ending of the previous book, and then the author leaves us on a cliffhanger – wondering and hoping that everything worked out.  But should we really expect it too?  Maverick has so many secrets that he is keeping from Lo and so many battles that he is trying to fight on his own.  Both Lo & Maverick know they belong together, they just have to decide if they can overcome their walls and battles.
This author is amazing at writing these angst filled young adult novels that push the reader to the edge.  Will they work out, won’t they?  Are they going to let the antagonist win or will they fight back?  I’m a big fan of the author, and have been since I stumbled across the Chastity Falls series last year.  The way this book ends is similar to the first one; you could almost convince yourself that it is a Happily Ever After – but then Lo hints at what might be coming in the near future when Maverick leaves for college.  Needless to say I am already ready for the next book in the series.  Overall I give this book 4 stars – it’s got all the things I’m looking for in a good read – romance, realistic characters, DRAMA and even some funny moments.  If you haven’t started this series yet, I recommend you do!

Author of mature young adult and new adult novels, L A is happiest writing the kind of books she loves to read: addictive stories full of teenage angst, tension, twists and turns.

Home is a small town in the middle of England where she currently juggles being a full-time writer with being a mother/referee to two little people. In her spare time (and when she’s not camped out in front of the laptop) you’ll most likely find L A immersed in a book, escaping the chaos that is life.
