My Rating: 4.5 Stars

Release Date: November 8, 2017

My plan was as simple as they come… in theory. Show up at the Cerberus clubhouse and give dear old Dad a piece of my mind. What I didn’t expect was being welcomed by the open arms of a father who had no idea I existed.

More importantly, I didn’t anticipate HER. Delilah Donovan was a breath of fresh air. She would soon become my reason for wanting to become a better man, my reason for getting out of bed with a smile on my normally sneering face. But no matter how much I changed, she’d always be too good for a man like me.

It was over before it could even begin.

My Thoughts

The story opens on Lawson losing his mother, the woman who has single handedly raised him and his younger brother. She sends him to find his father Jaxon that Lawson thought was a loser who ditched his mother and kicked her out when she became pregnant. To say he is holding a grudge is an understatement. His first day there he runs into Delilah who is the opposite of everything he is: she is sweet and innocent, helpful and forgiving. He does what he does best and pushes her away then leaves the state. Flash forward 2 years later and he’s done everything he can to be worthy of her time and affection – but is it too little too late?

I had not read the Cerberus MC stories that Marie James previously wrote, but as soon as I finished this one o wanted to know more about the story of Snatch and that led me to reading more about the other men in the MC. I’m still not done with their stories (and you do NOT need to read them before you read this book) but I have become so engrossed in that world that I’m putting them at the top of my to-read lists. The chemistry between the characters is very intense and I just love the realistic journey that all the relationships go through during the book. It’s a faced paced book so you won’t even notice the time passing as you read.  Overall I give this book 4.5 Stars.
