“John Doe” was just another patient. A criminal.
As a prison nurse, I knew the rules: do my job, don’t get involved, and never let a prisoner get under my skin.
I broke all three.
My passion, my obsession, my addiction. I risked my entire life so we could be together.
I thought helping him escape from prison would be the hard part.
It turns out when you fall in love with a villain, you also turn into one.
There was so much packed into this book that after I finished reading it I was waiting for it to sink it. This is book has very dark tones to it, so if you cannot handle some dark in your romance then this book is NOT for you. However, if you like a little darkness with your heroes then you will very much enjoy this book.
This book follows Tessa who is an abusive relationship; her husband is a very controlling man and whenever she doesn’t fall into his rules he will ‘discipline’ her to make sure it doesn’t happen again. She is a nurse in the prison infirmary & that is where she first meets Gracin. The way the author describes him, I am picturing this just delicious looking alpha man so it’s no wonder that Tessa is flustered around him.
The book isn’t too long and you could probably read through it really quickly. And the action definitely keeps the story flowing. The longer the books goes on, the darker the story gets. I give it four stars; Tessa is such a strong heroine – her entire life is dark and twisted but she pulls through it ok & Gracin is a great counterpoint to her character – strong willed and confident. I think if you are a dark romance fan, you will not be disappointed with this one.
