This was my first read by Karen Tjebben but I was excited for it based on the synopsis.
This story follows Bella, who was just recently attacked, and Jack, who has appointed himself as Bella’s bodyguard. They both work at Savage Security and their current project is to take down a terrorist cell that has recently targeted the security office. However, the longer Bella spends with Jack, the higher the tension rises.
The author writes this book from multiple points of view and it wasn’t always easy to discern when it switched between them. It was helpful for the reader to have the multiple viewpoints though. And the reader is able to see how the guys from Savage Security work together as a team. Also the romance was not the focal point of this book and I really liked that. It was good to temper down the seriousness of the suspense and drama that is prevalent in the book but readers who are not fans of romance novels will still be able to enjoy the book. I will say this is the first book of this series that I have read and I think it would be better for the reader to read the first two books in the series first. It seems that this book picks up right where the last one ended so if you haven’t read it then you may not be able to follow. All in all though it was a great read and I would recommend it for any readers..
