Spark’s fly the moment they meet, but what happens next?
Jason Stanford is charismatic, handsome, wealthy and alone in Bordeaux, France.
He intends to stay six months in order to advance his space travel ambitions
and to learn French. His plans are turned upside down by a chance meeting
with ambitious Aurelie Dumas. She is determined to teach Jason all about what
the French do best- love.
Aurelie Dumas is a career focused estate agent. Jason’s star bound ambitions
soon capture her heart, but this girl can’t do long term relationships. Jason
helps her come to terms with a family secret which has fractured her family
but will that be enough to make her want to stay around.
This was my first read by author Eilidh McGinness but the way she wrote her characters just drew me in.
This book follows the story of Aurelie & Jason; two strangers who happened upon each other one day by chance. Both these main characters have past issues and neither want anything serious and yet they are drawn to each other. I love how the author had the characters grow together to see if they could overcome their past hurts and issues. There are a few times when the author threw a curveball and took the story in a direction that I was not anticipating, but she made it all work out in the end. Everything about this book just draws the reader in. The chemistry between the two main characters, the history and drama from the characters’ past, and even the atmosphere just draw you in. The author has made me want to learn all I could French culture.
This isn’t a long book and the pacing is rather quick so once the reader gets in to the story they will just breeze right on through the book. I am eager to see what else this author comes out with; I would enjoy reading another one of her books.
