Second Sunday Series

Second Sunday Series – MARCH

One of my favorite things about reading books is when I discover a book series that I can really sink my teeth into; a series that captivates my attention from the first book until the last.  Throughout my life I have stumbled into many series’ (some from recommendations & some by accident) that I have gotten so much enjoyment out of I can’t help but share them with others.  So I have decided to try something new.  Every second Sunday will be a special blog about a particularly enjoyable and captivating series that I have either read or am currently reading – we will call them Second Sunday Series (partly because I like the alliteration and partly because I am not that creative as to think of a better name).

This month – since it is the first one – we’re going to start off with one of my new favorite authors.  It was honestly hard to pick which series I liked the best from her, but I finally settled on the answer – the With Me in Seattle series by Kristen Proby (I am not promising that another one of her series won’t end up being mentioned because I am just a huge fan of this lady’s writing).  I’m not quite sure when I first stumbled upon this series (sometimes in 2014), or even how I stumbled upon it (probably recommended to me on Amazon? or by a bookaholic coworker?), but I fell absolutely head over heels in love with the Montgomerys & the Williamses.  I’m not sure what I liked best – the men or the women from this family; both the Hero & the heroine of each story is lovabale, relatable and strong enough to overcome whatever obstacles may be facing them or their partner.  Each of the books in this series followed a different family member & each one had their own individual story without anything feeling repetitive or redundant throughout the series.  There are 8 full length novels and a couple short novellas that go along with it; I know we’re really jumping in feet first – it’s a pretty long series but the author is finished so you can totally binge read the entire thing in one sitting if you wanted (I started reading the series before Forever With Me was out so I could only binge read so far).  Each story can be read as a standalone so if you aren’t a fan of one of them, it won’t keep you from liking the rest of the series.  But, if you’re anything like me, you are going to absolutely love with this family & want to read all about them as well.

Good news is that if you want to start this series – but aren’t sure if you will like it – book one is free on Amazon.  My personal favorite is either Nate & Jules’ story or Mark & Meredith’s, for various reasons. I love the story of Nate & Jules because their chemistry is so intense and I couldn’t picture a better matched couple; I love the story of Mark & Meredith because I met my husband for the first time when I was 11 years old so I’m partial to stories that involve childhood sweethearts 🙂  Below is a brief synopsis of each book as well as my personal rating for each.  If you haven’t read these yet, you should – I do not think you’ll be disappointed.
