Dirty Dom by Willow Winters
Valetti Family Crime Series Book1
Rating: 4 Stars
Length: 178 Pages
Rebecca ‘Becca’ Harrison isn’t happy when she gets the phone call that she is on the line for her husband’s debt. She has a 3 year old, Jax, and she doesn’t want him affected by anything shady her ex-husband might have been dealing with. That is until she meets Dom. Dominic ‘Dom’ Valetti is a bookie for the familia so he is the one who meets with Becca to accept her payment. Things quickly escalate into something more than what we were expecting. Becca doesn’t know if she is ready for this but Dom is coming for her – whether she is ready or not.
Willow Winters is quite the author. I love the way she handled the chemistry between Becca & Dom. It was one of those loves that started out as lust at first sight, but grew into something more serious. I haven’t read many Mafia romances but I LOVE a bad boy. And Dom is absolutely a Bad Boy. He is a dominant, alpha male who does whatever it takes to get what he wants. In the beginning of the book he has a “love ’em and leave ’em” kind of attitude about women, but when it comes to Becca & her son Jax he has such a protective streak I just wanted to swoon.
Becca is a great mother. She so clearly wants to be with Dom, but she resists the temptation because she wants to do what is best for her son. She tries to convince herself it is just about the sex (which is so steamy, by the way – whew!) multiple times throughout the story. I love how the author shows her inner turmoil when wrestling with her decision of whether or not to just stay away from Dom. So many readers will be able to relate to her struggle – how many of us struggle trying to decide whether we should indulge in something that might be bad for us, but could be really good for us? Anywho, there is quite some drama that had me re-reading a few passages to make sure I didn’t miss anything the first time. I can’t wait to read the next few books in this series 🙂
